Welcome back, Laurie and Tim! In “Meeting Scandal,” Laurie Kilcannon and her fiancé Tim Riordan journey to Cape May, NJ so Tim can meet Laurie’s closest friends, the Dwyers, during a vacation “down the shore.” Laurie’s best friend is Jo Dwyer-Waltz, a dynamo who demonstrates the loving overfamiliarity of motherhood with her sons, Seamus and Blaise – and everyone else in her circle as well. Jo reminds Laurie that she wasn’t always quite so buttoned-up – perspective Laurie needs.

You’ll also meet Jo’s cardiac surgeon husband, Julian Waltz, her brother Luke (and his much younger wife Brandi), and her sister Terri (along with Terri’s husband Niccolo and their infant daughter). Then there’s Jo’s neighbor and close friend Gwen Jacoby and her two children, and a longtime friend of the Dwyer clan, Brooks Havilland, who makes the trip with his wife Merry and their son Chad. Rounding out the crew at the Dwyer house are two headstrong dogs and one runaway hamster…

But of course, it wouldn’t be a Laurie-and-Tim book if someone didn’t get killed. Readers meet and say goodbye to the Catering Manager at Laurie and Tim’s hotel in the very first scene. It’s a particularly chilling crime, and one the couple has only 2 weeks to solve.

I’m eagerly awaiting my cover illustration too – it’s currently being developed by the same artist who did my first two covers.
